Ilke Kardes is an Assistant Professor of International Business at Valdosta State University where she teaches international business, international marketing, case studies in international business, and principles of marketing. In addition to teaching, she is the co-advisor of the American Marketing Association’s collegiate chapter (VSU-AMA) and serves as a member of the university-wide Athletics Committee.

Dr. Kardes worked as a Faculty and as a Research Director at Georgia State University from 2014 to 2017. Her responsibilities included teaching classes in International Business at the Institute of International Business as well as research and IT services at the Center for International Business and Education Research (CIBER). Her research interests focus on emerging markets, middle class, branding, digital marketing, and IB pedagogy.

Her academic career and abilities have been shaped in different cultures during years. Ilke was a faculty member and taught many courses at the University of Applied Sciences, DĂĽsseldorf in Germany and at Marmara University, Istanbul in Turkey for several years. She was also a research associate at Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University for one year in 2011. Ilke is fluent in English, German, and Turkish.
